Saveology.comĀ® Donates Technology to Veterans and Schools
Targeting Disadvantaged while Helping the Environment by Recycling Working Technology
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – September 30, 2009 – Saveology.com®, a consumer comparison-shopping portal
focused on lowering the cost of living for households by providing valuable cost savings on known brands and services, as part of our
Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, is committed to protecting the environment through the effective use of recycling partners.
In an effort to locate a not-for-profit organization dedicated to this cause, the Company decided to partner with the National
Cristina Foundation after exhausting many options. This Foundation is committed to recycling obsolete electronics, and to the support
of training through donated technology. Saveology.com® was confident that we were doing our part to protect the environment while also
ensuring the reuse of valuable resources for those who could benefit most.
At our Florida headquarters, through the National Cristina Foundation, we donated over 65 monitors to a veterans program in Texas;
while in our New Jersey location, we were able to donate 95 monitors to Per Scholas, Inc., located in NYC. The National Cristina
Foundation provides an online network to locate and match those in need with those who wish to donate. Additionally, the partner
networks coordinated the pick-up of these donations.
At Saveology.com®, we strive to protect the environment by safely recycling used electronics and computers and were excited to find
National Cristina Foundation, to provide these donations. Many states prohibit the improper disposal of obsolete computer equipment and
improper handling can result in fines and other civil penalties. Through recycling your obsolete electronics, you are doing your part
to protect the environment and ensuring the reuse of valuable resources.
This foundation encourages corporations and individuals to donate their surplus and used computers, software, peripherals and related
business technology wherever this equipment is located. Though the help of their online donation process, they provide a pre-screened
partner network of charities, schools and public agencies with the important tools to support activities in thousands of training or
educational settings. The goal of this organization is to help people with disabilities but also the disadvantaged --and at the same
time provides for the responsible reuse and recycling of used technology.
