Saved by the bell with Saveology.com™
Saveology.com™, a consumer comparison-shopping portal focused on lowering the cost of living for households by providing valuable cost savings on known brands and services, recently presented a donation to Chris Evert Children's Hospital. A check for $2,000 was donated to the Child Life Program to help the hospital purchase DVD/VCR combination players and videos. The Child Life Programs strives to reduce the stress of hospitalization through promoting the normal, social, emotional and educational development of hospitalized children.
"With the goal of making a special holiday season for these children, we are proud to continue our support of the Chris Evert Children's Hospital for the second year," said Reid Shapiro, Saveology.com partner.
Katherine Anderson, Child Life Community Relations specialist and Patricia Lira, Child Life coordinator were presented a check by Shapiro, to mark the second year the company has donated to the family-centered care unit for newborns, neonates, children and youth at Broward General Medical Center.
In 2007, the first year of contribution to the hospital, the goal was achieved through a company-wide toy drive that staff personally delivered. This year, Saveology.com decided to forego the annual corporate gift and use that money to contribute to the children's hospital.
